Criminal Intelligence Team - Wyoming Criminal Intelligence Center

The primary purpose of the Criminal Intelligence Team (CIT) and Wyoming Criminal Intelligence Center (WCIC) is to collect, analyze, and disseminate criminal intelligence and support to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies pertaining to the state of Wyoming pursuant to W.S. 9-1-627 and 28 CFR Part 23.  A major goal of CIT is to identify, document, and disseminate criminal intelligence concerning persons involved in organized crime, terrorist groups, and those crimes involving multi-jurisdictional or serial crimes.

The Criminal Intelligence Team is the state liaison for
  • INTERPOL
  • Financial Crimes Investigation Network (FinCEN)
  • El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC)
  • Rocky Mountain Information Network (RMIN)
  • Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (RMHIDTA)
  • Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP)
  • and other information systems

The team works closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement, as well as the U.S. Attorney's Office, Wyoming Office of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
