Circumstances of Rock Springs Case
In the early morning hours of June 10th, 1991 an unknown male entered the bedroom window of a fourteen year-old girl and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. The victim was bound with duct-tape and gagged with her own clothing. During the assault, the suspect brandished a handgun. After the assault, the suspect fled from the same window and was last seen running away from the house. Physical evidence including suspect DNA was found at the crime scene.
The suspect was described as being in his late twenties to mid-thirties at the time of the assault. He was approximately 5’10”, slender build, with dark medium length hair. The suspect was said to be wearing a “sporty” type jacket of unknown color. The suspects DNA is on file in the CODIS database.
Circumstances of Laramie Case
In the early morning hours of May 19th, 1996 an unknown male entered the victim's residence through a ground level sliding glass door. The victim eyes were covered with duct-tape. The suspect was believed to be armed with a knife. After the assault, the suspect fled. Physical evidence including suspect DNA was found at the crime scene.
The suspect was described as being in his thirties at the time of the assault. He was approximately 5’10” and approximately 180 pounds with reddish brown hair and blue eyes. The suspect was said to be wearing a stiff "Carhart" type jacket. The suspects DNA is on file in the CODIS database.
In October of 2007 the suspect DNA was entered into the CODIS (Combined DNA Indexing System) and additional suspect matches were identified. Investigation determined that the same suspect had sexually assaulted women of varying ages in Rock Springs, WY in 1991; in Ogden, UT in July of 1993; in Laramie, WY in May 1996; and in Clearfield, UT in July of 2000 and May of 2001. At this time, no suspect has been identified.
