Background Checks/Applicant Tracking System

*****PROCESSING TIME IS TAKING LONGER THAN USUAL DUE TO AN INCREASED VOLUME OF FINGERPRINT CARDS*****

The Applicant Tracking System (ATS) unit processes criminal history checks for applicants.

The ATS Section tracks and sends criminal history record information on various applicants. We receive fingerprint cards from a variety of sources for background checks. The information from these cards are entered into our ATS system, then they are given to our Fingerprint Services personnel. They then scan the cards into the fingerprint database system to determine if a criminal record exists or not. The cards are then given back to the ATS personnel so they may process the results. The length of time this process takes depends on the current backlog. We average over 2,000 applicant checks per month.
