Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS)

The CJIS section is comprised of several elements. The Criminal Records unit is responsible for the computerized state criminal history system (CCH). The Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) unit is responsible for Wyoming Concealed Firearm Permits. The Sexual Offender Registration (SOR) unit maintains the Wyoming Sex Offender Registry. The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) unit compiles statewide crime statistics and forwards them to the FBI. The Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) unit is responsible for receiving and analyzing arrest and applicant fingerprint cards. The Applicant Tracking System (ATS) unit processes criminal history checks for applicants. The Control Terminal (CT) unit is responsible for the operation of the Wyoming Criminal Justice Information Network (WCJIN) and as such is the state's Control Terminal Agency for the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the International Justice and Public Safety Network (Nlets). The unit also functions as the state's Missing Person Clearinghouse.
